| Abstract: |
Cílem této bakalářské práce je zhodnotit roli náboženství v konfliktu o Kašmír. Případová studie se zabývá okolnostmi vzniku tohoto konfliktu a jeho následným vývojem, přičemž zvláštní důraz je kladen na roli náboženství v pákistánské a indické politice. Kořeny konfliktu sahají až do roku 1947, kdy došlo k rozdělení Britské Indie na dva nezávislé státy – Indii, s převahou hinduistů, a Pákistán, s převahou muslimů. Území Kašmíru se stalo dějištěm několika indicko-pákistánských válek, přičemž v oblasti dodnes přetrvává napětí. Práce vychází z teorie Střetu civilizací S. Huntingtona a na konflikt v Kašmíru nahlíží jako na střet hinduistické a islámské kultury, přičemž klíčovým aspektem obou těchto kultur je náboženství. Náboženský rozměr konfliktu byl dále umocněn islamizací Pákistánu a nárůstem hinduistického nacionalismu v Indii. |

| Abstract: |
The aim of this thesis is to assess the role of religion in the conflict over Kashmir. The case study examines the circumstances of the origins of this conflict and its subsequent evolution, with particular emphasis on the role of religion in Pakistani and Indian politics. The roots of the conflict go back to 1947, when British India was divided into two independent states - India, a Hindu-majority state, and Pakistan, a Muslim-majority state. The territory of Kashmir has been the scene of several Indio-Pakistani wars, with tensions persisting in the region to this day. The thesis is based on S. Huntington's Clash of Civilizations theory and views the conflict in Kashmir as a clash between Hindu and Islamic cultures, with religion being a key aspect of both. The religious dimension of the conflict has been highlighted by the Islamisation of Pakistan and the rise of Hindu nationalism in India. |
