Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou chování Francie a Švédska během jejich předsednictví v Radě Evropské unie, se zaměřením na prosazování vlastních národních zájmů. Kvůli rozdílné velikosti obou států je sledován a srovnáván přístup malého a velkého státu k roli předsednictví. Cílem této práce je zjistit, jakým způsobem se Švédsko, jakožto zástupce malých států, a Francie, jakožto příklad velkého státu, chovaly během svých předsednictví v oblasti prosazování vlastních národních zájmů. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř kapitol. První zkoumá dosavadní teoretické poznatky o chování malých a velkých států během předsednictví. Druhá analyzuje přístup obou zemí k předsednictví skrze jejich programy. Třetí se zabývá národními zájmy od jejich nalezení přes jejich prosazování až k úspěšnosti prosazování. Poslední kapitola sjednocuje hodnocení obou předsednictví ze stran vlád i nezávislých autorů. Ve všech kapitolách je kromě analýzy provedena i komparace pro zkoumání, zda se Francie a Švédsko chovaly podle dosavadních teoretických poznatků o velkých a malých státech. Z práce vyplývá, že se Francie i Švédsko chovaly v souladu s existující teorií. |

| Abstract: |
This bachelor thesis analyses the behaviour of France and Sweden during their presidencies of the Council of the European Union, focusing on the promotion of their own national interests. Due to the different size of the two countries, the small and large state approach to the role of the presidency is observed and compared. The aim of this paper is to find out how Sweden, as a representative of small states, and France, as an example of a large state, behaved during their presidencies in terms of promoting their own national interests. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first examines existing theoretical knowledge on the behaviour of small and large states during the presidency. The second analyses both countries' approach to the presidency through their programmes. The third examines national interests from finding them through their pursuit to the success of their pursuit. The last chapter brings together assessments of the two presidencies by governments and independent authors. In all chapters, in addition to analysis, comparisons are made to examine whether France and Sweden have behaved according to existing theoretical knowledge about large and small states. The thesis concludes that both France and Sweden have behaved in line with existing theory. |
