| Abstract: | Otroctví je praktika, která je již dlouhou dobu považována za nelegální, nicméně jeho novější forma, moderní otroctví, stále sužuje dnešní společnost. Spojené království vystupuje jako přední aktér při potírání této problematiky, nicméně i v této vyspělé zemi bylo zaznamenáno značné množství případů spojených s touto formou vykořisťování. Tato práce zkoumá rozsah a povahu moderního otroctví ve Velké Británii, dále se zaměřuje na identifikaci příčin a nástrojů odstraňování moderního otroctví v zemi, a to prostřednictvím případové studie. V průběhu práce se ukazuje, že kromě ekonomických aspektů přispívá k přetrvávání moderního otroctví ve Velké Británii také samotný stát, což vyvolává značné otázky ohledně účinnosti stávajících opatření. |

| Abstract: | Slavery is a practice that has long been considered illegal, yet its newer form, modern slavery, still plagues today's society. The United Kingdom has acted as a leading actor in tackling this issue, however even in this developed country there have been a significant number of cases associated with this form of exploitation. This thesis explores the extent and nature of modern slavery in the UK, and also aims to identify the causes and tools for the eradication of modern slavery in the country through a case study. In the course of the thesis, it becomes apparent that in addition to economic aspects, the state itself contributes to the persistence of modern slavery in the UK, raising significant questions about the effectiveness of existing measures. |
