| Abstract: | Festival Pražské jaro je nejstarším festivalem svého druhu v Evropě a má celosvětový význam a renomé. Historie a vývoj festivalu jsou protkány hned několika událostmi, které úzce souvisí s politickou situací v Evropě i ve světě a daly by se označit za hudební diplomacii v praxi. Tato bakalářská práce se tedy zaměřuje na klíčové aspekty využití festivalu Pražské jaro jako nástroje kulturní diplomacie České republiky a jeho propojení s probíhajícím Rokem české hudby. První část práce se zabývá klíčovými pojmy, jako je soft power, kulturní diplomacie a hudební diplomacie. V druhé kapitole jsou popsány nástroje hudební diplomacie v oblasti klasické hudby, mezi které se řadí i hudební festivaly nebo koncept Roku české hudby. Třetí kapitola se pak podrobněji zabývá festivalem Pražské jaro, jeho historií, vývojem, současnou podobou a 79. sezónou spojenou s oslavami Roku české hudby, na základě čehož jsou určeny hlavní aspekty využití festivalu jako nástroje kulturní diplomacie. Závěrečná část shrnuje poznatky a nastiňuje možný potenciál pro využití festivalu Pražské jaro ve strategii kulturní diplomacie České republiky k posílení mezinárodních vazeb a dialogu. |

| Abstract: | The Prague Spring Festival is the oldest festival of its kind in Europe and has a worldwide significance and reputation. The history and development of the festival are intertwined with several events that are closely related to the political situation in Europe and the world and could be described as musical diplomacy in practice. This bachelor thesis therefore focuses on key aspects of the use of the Prague Spring Festival as a tool of cultural diplomacy of the Czech Republic and its connection with the ongoing Year of Czech Music. The first part of the thesis deals with key concepts such as soft power, cultural diplomacy and music diplomacy. The second chapter describes the instruments of music diplomacy in the field of classical music, including music festivals and the concept of the Year of Czech Music. The third chapter then deals in more detail with the Prague Spring Festival, its history, development, current form and the 79th season associated with the Year of Czech Music celebrations, on the basis of which the main aspects of using the festival as a tool of cultural diplomacy are identified. The final part summarises the findings and outlines the possible potential for using the Prague Spring Festival in the Czech Republic's cultural diplomacy strategy to strengthen international ties and dialogue. |
