| Abstract: | Ruská státní identita a její role v mezinárodních vztazích je diskutovaným problémem nejenom v akademické sféře. Cílem této práce je zjistit, jakou roli hraje ruská státní identita v konfliktu na Ukrajině. K naplnění cíle práce byl zvolen interpretativní kvalitativní výzkum, metodami práce jsou jednopřípadová studie: Válka na Ukrajině a Foucaultovská diskurzivní analýza. Díky stanoveným metodám byl prokázán vliv ruské státní identity na konflikt na Ukrajině. Ruská státní identita umožňuje prezidentovi Putinovi uskutečňovat jeho zahraniční politiku bez ztráty podpory mezi obyvateli. Pokud podstatná část obyvatel sdílí stejnou státní identitu, která vychází především z imperialismu, nacionalismu, historie, kultury a jednotného smýšlení o světovém uspořádání jako „Ruském světě“, pak se nelze divit výsledkům průzkumů prokazující nárůst podpory Putinova režimu jak po anexi Krymu, tak po začátku války na Ukrajině. Imperialistická ruská státní identita však měla opačný vliv na ukrajinskou společnost, kdy ruskou státní identitu lze považovat za jednu z příčin nárůstu procenta ukrajinských obyvatel identifikujících se jako Ukrajinci. |

| Abstract: | Russian state identity and its role in international relations remains a topical issue not only in the academic sphere. The aim of this thesis is to find out what role Russian state identity plays in the conflict in Ukraine. In order to fulfil the aim, an interpretive qualitative research was chosen, the methods of the thesis are one-case study: the war in Ukraine and Foucauldian discourse analysis. Thanks to the established methods, the role of Russian state identity on the conflict in Ukraine has been demonstrated. Russian state identity allows Putin to pursue his foreign policy without losing support within the population. If a substantial portion of the population shares the same state identity, which is primarily based on imperialism, nationalism, history, culture, and a unified sense of the world order as "Russia's world," then one cannot be surprised by the results of surveys examining increasing support for Putin's regime. However, the imperialist Russian state identity has had the opposite effect among Ukrainian society, where Russian state identity can be seen as one of the reasons for the increase in the percentage of the Ukrainian population identifying as Ukrainian. |
