Analysis and resolution of data quality challenges in SAP ERP integration

The main goal of this thesis is to develop and validate applicable strategies and methodologies for ensuring data quality and integrity during the replication process into the SAP S/4 HANA system. The work emphasizes overcoming challenges associated with both manual and automatic processes. A key part of the analysis is the examination of existing methods and approaches to data quality and integrity, investigating data quality specifics in the financial sector, and assessing the opportunities and challenges arising from the integration of different versions of SAP systems. Furthermore, the thesis identifies areas that cannot be easily automated, aiming to find potential obstacles and strategies for their overcoming. Based on this analysis, a proposal for a general methodology to ensure data quality and integrity in the replication process into the SAP S/4 HANA system is formulated, whose applicability and effectiveness are subsequently verified on a specific case. This approach allows a deeper understanding of the challenges associated with maintaining data quality and integrity in the dynamic and complex environment of SAP S/4 HANA, offering new insights into improving these aspects in SAP systems. Therefore, the thesis makes a significant contribution to the field of data quality and integrity, providing a basis for more efficient and reliable data processes within SAP systems, which has the potential to improve operational efficiency and decision-making processes in organizations using these systems.
