| Abstract: | Hlavním cílem práce je analyzovat vztah mezi sázkovými kurzy a skutečnými výsledky zápasů v Premier League. Cíl zahrnuje porovnání sázkových kurzů s reálnými výsledky, zkoumání, jak přesně sázkové kurzy odrážejí skutečné výsledky a zda se přesnost mění v průběhu sezón. Vedle hlavního cíle práce zjišťuje, jaké proměnné mají statisticky významný vliv na sázkový kurz. Také jsou provedeny predikce výsledů na základě kurzů. Celkově má práce čtenáři poskytnout ucelený pohled na kurzové sázení. Podkladem pro analýzu jsou historická data za 5 sezón. Práce využívá Brierovo skóre, vizualizační metodu kalibračních grafů, regresní analýzu a rozhodovací stromy. Jedním ze závěrů je, že přesnost kurzů z dlouhodobého hlediska je velmi vysoká, avšak napříč sezónami existují odchylky od přesné kalibrace. Nejnižší přesnost byla zaznamenána v sezóně 2020/21, která byla postižena pandemií COVID-19. |

| Abstract: | The main objective of the study is to analyze the relationship between betting odds and actual match outcomes in the Premier League. The objective includes comparing betting odds with real outcomes, examining how accurately betting odds reflect actual results, and whether accuracy changes over the course of seasons. In addition to the main objective, the study investigates which variables have statistically significant impact on betting odds. Predictions of actual outcomes based on odds are also made. Overall, the study offers comprehensive view of betting. The analysis is based on historical data from 5 seasons. Brier score, calibration plot, regression analysis and decision trees are utilized. One of the conclusions is that the accuracy of odds is generally very high in the long run, but there are deviations from precise calibration across seasons, with the lowest accuracy recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic in the 2020/21 season. |
