| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá úroveň povědomí veřejnosti o GDPR v Česku a identifikuje klíčové faktory, které mají na tuto úroveň vliv. Práce představuje detailní analýzu GDPR, včetně jeho hlavních principů a zásad, a zkoumá jejich aplikaci v digitálním věku. Prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření práce zkoumá současné povědomí české veřejnosti o GDPR a data porovnává s výzkumy, které byly prováděny v minulosti, na úrovni celé Evropské unie. Výsledky ukazují, že přestože povědomí o GDPR je v České republice na dobré úrovni, hlubší porozumění specifickým právům a povinnostem je stále nedostatečné, což může mít vážné důsledky jak pro jednotlivce, tak pro organizace. Práce také odhalila nedostatečné množství informačních kampaní a složitost právních textů jako hlavní překážky pro lepší pochopení GDPR. Závěrem práce jsou představena doporučení pro zlepšení povědomí veřejnosti o dané tematice, která by měla vést k lepší ochraně osobních údajů a zvýšení právní jistoty pro všechny zúčastněné strany. |

| Abstract: | This bachelor's thesis examines the level of public awareness of GDPR in the Czech Republic and identifies the key factors that influence this level of awareness. The thesis presents a detailed analysis of the GDPR, including its main principles and policies, and explores their application in the digital age. Through a questionnaire survey, the thesis examines the current awareness of the GDPR among the Czech public and compares the data with research that has been conducted in the past, at the level of the entire European Union. The results show that although awareness of the GDPR is at a reasonable level in the Czech Republic, a deeper understanding of the specific rights and obligations is still lacking, which can have serious consequences for both individuals and organizations. The work also revealed the lack of awareness campaigns and the complexity of legal texts as major barriers to a better understanding of the GDPR. The paper concludes with recommendations for improving public awareness of the topic, which should lead to better data protection and increased legal certainty for all stakeholders. |
