| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá ekonomií kriminality a blíže analyzuje vztah mezi nezaměstnaností a majetkovou kriminalitou. Za použití panelových dat zemí Evropské unie ve sledovaném období 2000-2021 je odhadován vliv nezaměstnanosti na celkovou majetkovou kriminalitu a její tři druhy, kterými jsou krádeže vloupáním, loupeže a krádeže motorových vozidel. Panelová data obsahují 594 pozorování pro 27 členských zemí. Za pomoci ekonometrického modelu fixních efektů, který obsahuje i další sociodemografické proměnné pro kontrolu nepozorovaných faktorů, byla posuzována hypotéza, že existuje pozitivní vztah mezi mírou nezaměstnanosti a mírou majetkové kriminality. Hypotézu se podařilo potvrdit, jelikož byl shledán pozitivní signifikantní vliv nezaměstnanosti na majetkovou kriminalitu a tři vybrané druhy (krádež vloupáním, loupež, krádež motorových vozidel). |

| Abstract: | This bachelor thesis explores the economics of crime and analyses the relationship between unemployment and property crime in detail. The effect of unemployment on total property crime and its three types (burglary, robbery, auto theft) is estimated using panel data of European Union countries over the years 2000-2021. The panel data contains 594 observations for 27 member states of EU. The hypothesis that there is a positive relationship between the unemployment rate and the property crime rate was assessed using a fixed effects model that includes additional socio-demographic variables to control for unobserved factors. The hypothesis was confirmed as unemployment was found to have a significant positive effect on property crime and three selected types (burglary, robbery, auto theft). |
