| Abstract: | Tato diplomová práce řeší znalostní ekonomiku, jakožto klíčový aspekt hospodářského růstu území v prostředí globalizace a rychlého společenského pokroku. Způsob řešení této problematiky vychází z metodiky Světové banky, kdy je pozornost věnována čtyřem pilířům znalostní ekonomiky, které jsou modifikovány a zkoumány na úrovni krajů České republiky v letech 2016 a 2021, s cílem zjištění, který kraj má ve znalostní ekonomice nejlepší postavení. Ze zkoumání této problematiky vychází, že pro růst celkové produktivity je zásadní příspěvek znalostí a prohlubování lidského kapitálu, který pozitivně ovlivňuje vývoj znalostní ekonomiky ve všech jejích pilířích. Výsledky práce ukazují, že nejlepší postavení ve znalostní ekonomice má v rámci zkoumaných let Hlavní město Praha, jakožto ekonomické a vědecké centrum České republiky. Naopak nejhorší postavení vykazuje kraj Karlovarský, procházející transformací a potýkající se s řadou strukturálních problémů. |

| Abstract: | This master's thesis addresses the knowledge economy as a key aspect of regional economic growth in the context of globalization and rapid social progress. The approach to addressing this issue is based on the methodology of the World Bank, with attention focused on four pillars of the knowledge economy. These pillars are modified and examined at the level of regions in the Czech Republic for the years 2016 and 2021, aiming to determine which region has the best position in the knowledge economy. The examination of this issue suggests that knowledge contribution and the deepening of human capital are essential for overall productivity growth, positively influencing the development of the knowledge economy across all its pillars. The results of the study indicate that, within the years under investigation, the capital city of Prague holds the best position in the knowledge economy as the economic and scientific center of the Czech Republic. Conversely, the Karlovy Vary region exhibits the worst position, undergoing transformation and facing a number of structural problems. |
