Development of the structure of education in the regions of the Czech Republic with a focus on the Ústí nad Labem Region between 2011 and 2021

The bachelor's thesis analyses the development of the educational structure of the regions of the Czech Republic between years 2011 and 2021. It focuses in depth on the development of the Ústí nad Labem Region at its district level. This region was selected for detailed analysis in terms of its categorization as a structurally affected region. The theoretical part of the thesis explains the basic concepts and theoretical background related to the issue. In the practical part of the thesis, the above-mentioned analysis of the educational structure is carried out mainly through the data of the Czech Statistical Office from the 2011 and 2021 Census of Population, Houses and Flats. Increased attention should be paid to regions with long-term structural problems, which, based on the data examined, include the Ústí nad Labem Region, as a high proportion of people with primary or incomplete education and a low proportion of people with higher education were identified. A deeper analysis further revealed significant intra-regional disparities (at district level). The thesis concludes by examining possible socio-economic factors influencing the unfavorable educational structure of the Ústí nad Labem Region. It also formulates specific recommendations in the framework of educational policy and regional development.
