Comparison of subsidies provided for individual sports from the budget of the city of Košice and its municipal districts

The bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of subsidies provided for individual sports in 2022 and 2023 from the budget of the city of Košice and its municipal districts. The thesis presents a complex issue of the provision of funds for sport, throughout the city. The theoretical part defines with the help of a literature search basic concepts such as sport, sport financing, subsidies, public budget and two economic theories, the theory of bureaucracy from the point of view of Max Weber, Robert K. Merton, Michel Crozier, William Niskanen, Richard Sennett and the theory of regional development using the locational theory. The practical part applies the knowledge from the theoretical part and based on it describes the budgets of the city of Košice in 2022 and 2023 and the distribution of expenditure on sport according to the city districts of Košice. The main focus of the thesis is the analysis of subsidies provided by the City of Košice for individual sports and their subsequent comparison. The conclusion of the bachelor thesis compares the provision of subsidies provided from the budget of the City of Košice and the budgets of selected city districts for individual sports and confirms the hypothesis that there are sports that in the period under study received a multiply larger amount of funds than other sports. The conclusion also includes interviews with representatives of sport funding in the city of Košice, which gives a closer insight into the functioning of sport funding in practice.

Bakalářská práce se zabývá komparací poskytnutých dotací na jednotlivé sporty v letech 2022 a 2023 z rozpočtu města Košice a jeho městských částí. Práce přináší komplexní problematiku poskytování finančních prostředků na sport, na celém území města. Teoretická část definuje pomocí literární rešerše základní pojmy jako sport, financování sportu, dotace, veřejný rozpočet a dvě ekonomické teorie, teorii byrokracie z pohledu Maxe Webera, Roberta K. Mertona, Michela Croziera, Williama Niskanena, Richarda Sennetta a teorii regionálního rozvoje . Praktická část aplikuje poznatky z teoretické části a na základě nich popisuje rozpočty města Košice v letech 2022 a 2023 a rozdělení výdajů na sport podle městských částí města Košice. Hlavní náplní práce je rozbor dotací poskytnutých městem Košice na jednotlivé sporty a následná jejich komparace. Závěr bakalářské práce porovnává poskytování dotací poskytnutých z rozpočtu města Košice az rozpočtů vybraných městských části na jednotlivé sporty a potvrzuje hypotézu, že existují sporty, které ve sledovaném období dostaly násobně větší objem finančních prostředků než sporty jiné. Závěr také obsahuje rozhovory s představiteli financování sportu ve městě Košice, což přináší bližší nahlédnutí do fungování financí na sport v praxi.
