Thesis title: LYFT company’s business expansion to Central Europe
Author: Hashimov, Subhan
Thesis type: Bachelor thesis
Supervisor: Kubíček, Aleš
Opponents: Pernica, Karel
Thesis language: English
Abstract:
This thesis explores the feasibility and strategic considerations for Lyft's expansion into Central Europe, focusing on the Czech Republic and Poland. Through comprehensive internal and external analyses using frameworks such as VRIO, SWOT, PESTEL, and Porter's Five Forces, the study evaluates Lyft's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Key strengths include Lyft's strong brand appeal, strategic partnerships, and commitment to sustainability, positioning it favorably in environmentally conscious markets. However, challenges such as a narrow geographic footprint and higher pricing need to be addressed. The political stability and economic growth in Central European countries provide a supportive environment for expansion, but regulatory complexities and local market conditions require careful navigation. Technological advancements and the rising adoption of ride-hailing services present growth opportunities that Lyft can leverage through innovative services and strategic partnerships. Ultimately, the success of Lyft's expansion will depend on its ability to adapt to local conditions, form effective partnerships, and continuously innovate to meet consumer demands.
