| Abstract: | Práce zkoumá, jaké hlavní faktory ovlivňují uplatnění knižních ilustrátorů v České republice. Popisuje postavení ilustrátorů na trhu knižní produkce, aspekty jejich spolupráce s nakladatelstvími, způsob ohodnocení jejich práce a charakteristiky jejich příjmů. Výzkum je proveden formou řízených, hloubkových rozhovorů s knižními ilustrátory působícími na českém knižním trhu. Práce čerpá z dostupné literatury zabývající se tématem ilustrace a dalších zdrojů popisujících současné dění v tématu. Z výzkumu vyplynulo, že 5 hlavními faktory ovlivňujícími uplatnění knižních ilustrátorů je malý knižní trh s nerovnoměrným rozložením finančních prostředků, nedocenění oboru ze strany nakladatelů, způsob ohodnocení práce odvíjející se od počtu ilustrací a ne času, nestabilita příjmů a malá možnost ovlivnění smluvních podmínek. |

| Abstract: | The Bachelor’s Thesis explores the factors of application of book illustrators in the Czech Republic. It describes the position of illustrators in the book production market, aspects of their cooperation with publishers, the way their work is financially evaluated and the characteristics of their income. The research is conducted through structured, in-depth interviews with book illustrators active in Czech book market. The thesis draws from available literature on illustration and other sources describing current events in the field. The research revealed that the 5 main factors affecting the application of book illustrators are a small book market with uneven distribution of financial resources, undervaluation of the field by publishers, compensation based on the number of illustrations rather than time, income instability and limited ability to influence contract terms. |
