Strategic Analysis of EUREX AG

This thesis aims to conduct a strategic analysis and formulate recommendations and comments for the management of EUREX - leading European derivatives exchange. By analyzing the company’s corporate statement, product portfolio, stakeholders and macro environment effects which are relevant for the industry. The finding shows that despite turbulent economic and political background as well as high competition in the industry Eurex was able to increase their ROA and ROE constantly due to higher trading volumes and demand for derivatives on a current market. Altogether with strong brand reputation and trust in the industry Eurex has opportunity to expand further on different markets. Company would need to concentrate on offer of exclusive derivatives as well as derivatives on alternative assets in order to attract members in competitive EEA market. However high levels of debt used by Eurex Clearing remains concerning in current turbulent environment.
