| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou amerického dolaru jako mezinárodní obchodní a rezervní měny. Dolar vystřídal britskou libru na vedoucí pozici mezi měnami po druhé světové válce a po upevnění svého postavení v 70. letech 20. století vznikem petrodolaru si svou pozici udržuje dodnes. V současné době se ale objevují názory, že je jen otázkou času, kdy nějaká měna dolar vystřídá. Cílem práce je posoudit, zda dolar postupně ztrácí vedoucí postavení. Vyhodnocení probíhalo na základě indikátorů, které kopírují funkce peněz a výsledky ukazují, že se pozice dolaru za posledních přibližně 30 let téměř nezměnila. Dalšími cíli je analýza možných alternativ dolaru na pozici mezinárodní obchodní a rezervní měny v podobě renminbi, eura či kryptoměn a pokus o predikci možného budoucího vývoje mezinárodního měnového uspořádání v dohledné době, který se bude odvíjet od rizikových faktorů plynoucích pro USA, eurozónu a Čínu, resp. státy BRICS. |

| Abstract: | This bachelor’s thesis deals with the issue of the US dollar as an international trade and reserve currency. The dollar replaced the British pound as the leading currency after the Second World War, and after consolidating its position in the 1970s with the creation of the petrodollar, it maintains its position to this day. However, there are currently opinions that it is only a matter of time before another currency will replace the dollar. The aim of this work is to assess whether the dollar is gradually losing its position. The evaluation was carried out based on indicators that copy the functions of money and the results show that the position of the dollar has hardly changed in the last 30 years. Other goals of the thesis were to analyse the possible alternatives of the dollar in the form of renminbi, euros and cryptocurrencies and try to predict the possible future development of the international monetary arrangements in the foreseeable future, which will depend on the risk factors arising for the USA, the Eurozone and China. |
