Business and Migration: Citizens of the Russian Federation in the Czech Republic

The study aims to analyze the entrepreneurial activities of Russian citizens in the Czech Republic, taking into account the impact of migration policies and sanctions on their businesses. The methodology includes the use of qualitative methods, in particular, semi-structured interviews with entrepreneurs from Russia. The theoretical part of the paper considers the main theoretical aspects of migrant entrepreneurship. Key characteristics of ethnic entrepreneurship and factors influencing the choice of a country for doing business are identified. It also analyzes general trends in migration flows and their impact on the business environment in the receiving countries, with a focus on the Czech Republic. Special attention is paid to Russian migrants in the Czech Republic, their migration history, peculiarities of adaptation and impact on the economy and entrepreneurship. The practical part presents the results of the practical research conducted on the basis of theoretical hypotheses. A specially developed methodological approach included semi-structured interviews with entrepreneurs in order to clarify the motivation for choosing the country, factors of successful business and the impact of migration policies and sanctions on their enterprises. The findings allow us to identify general trends, challenges and opportunities for Russian entrepreneurs in the Czech Republic. The final part summarizes the findings and analyzes the current situation. The key factors shaping the business environment for Russian entrepreneurs in the Czech Republic are identified.
