Práce se věnuje genderové otázce a postavení žen ve Rwandě od 90. let 20. století. Cílem textu je zjistit jaké je současné postavení žen ve Rwandě a jaké faktory jej v průběhu posledních tří dekád utvářely. Na vývoj postavení žen je nahlíženo skrze křivku Indexu genderové nerovnosti (GII). Teoretická část textu představuje teorii feminismu v mezinárodních vztazích (se zaměřením na africký feminismus) a koncepty genderu, genderové rovnosti a genderových stereotypů dále se zabývá rolí žen v ozbrojených konfliktech a postkonfliktních prostředích. Empirická část se věnuje samotné analýze vývoje GII a vlivu jednotlivých faktorů. Závěr představuje zlomové okamžiky, jež ovlivnily vývoj křivky GII nejvýrazněji. Práce poskytuje možnou inspiraci pro země v postkonfliktních obdobích, které chtějí zlepšit postavení žen. |

| Abstract: |
The thesis focuses on the question of gender and the status of women in Rwanda since the 1990s. The aim of the text is to find out what is the current status of women in Rwanda and what factors have shaped it over the last three decades. The evolution of the status of women is viewed through the Gender Inequality Index (GII) curve. The theoretical part of the text introduces the theory of feminism in international relations (with a focus on African feminism) and the concepts of gender, gender equality and gender stereotypes. It further examines the role of women in armed conflict and post-conflict environments. The empirical part focuses on the analysis of the development of the GII itself and the impact of various factors. The conclusion presents the turning points that have influenced the development of the GII curve most significantly. Overall, the paper provides possible inspiration for countries in post-conflict periods that wish to improve the status of women. |
