Abstract:
There are fundamental differences between IT migration projects and traditional software development projects, both in their objectives and nature. While IT migration projects involve the transfer of data or applications, ensuring data integrity is of the utmost importance. In contrast, software development projects focus on creating or improving functionalities to meet evolving requirements.IT migration projects often face data loss, compatibility issues, and integration complexities. Meanwhile, software development projects may encounter missed requirements and new software bugs. Additionally, IT migrations typically follow predictable timelines, emphasize change management, and require close collaboration with IT and security teams. Regarding agile project management, Scrum and Spotify Model Squad approaches are two popular choices. While both Scrum and Squad have advantages and disadvantages, they can be compatible and effective in different use cases. The objectives of this thesis is to assess the effectiveness and challenges of practicing Scrum and Spotify Model approaches of Agile and find the suitable guideline in using Agile in IT Migration Project.
