Neotrusteeship as an approach to dealing with fragile states

The thesis deals with the analysis of the use of neotrusteeship in Kosovo and East Timor. The thesis is divided into four chapters, and in the theoretical part the author situates the concept of neorusteeship in international relations theories and defines it, as well as the author higlights its positive and negative aspects. In the empirical part, the thesis then analyses the application of this approach in Kosovo and East Timor, including the involvement of key actors and mechanisms. Subsequently, in the last chapter, the author then compares the use of neotrusteeship in three key areas: institution building, security provision and economic recovery. These three areas identified helped the author to answer the tentative research question and fulfil the aim of the thesis. The conclusions of the thesis then highlight the differences and similarities in the approach of applying neotrusteeship in Kosovo and East Timor.
