| Abstract: | Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vlivem změn v imigrační politice v období 1950–2000 ve Spojených státech amerických. Primárně zkoumá jejich dopady na trh práce. Cíle práce je ověřit vědeckou hypotézu, která tvrdí, že: změny zavedené v imigrační politice ve sledovaném období vedly k rostoucímu počtu imigrantů s vyšším vzděláním a zvýšení počtu obyvatelstva v produktivním věku. Společně s hlavní vědeckou hypotézou zkoumá autor práce dílčí výzkumné otázky: s jakým cílem byly tyto změny prováděny? Jak se lišily cílené a reálné dopady? a v neposlední řadě: jakou míru restrikce tyto legislativní úpravy přinesly? Pro získání potřebných dat a informací bylo užito statistických dat z odborných pramenů a odborných studií. Na základě autorem získaných informací a analýzy dat došel autor práce k závěru, že změny v imigrační politice vedly k posílení produktivní složky pracovního trhu a současně znamenaly příchod rostoucího počtu kvalifikovaných pracovníků. Cíle, s nimiž tyto změny přišly tak hodnotím, jako splněné a hlavní hypotézu práce za verifikovanou. |

| Abstract: | This diploma thesis examine the influence of changes in immigration policy in the period 1950–2000 in the United States of Americe. It primarily examines effect of the changes on the labor market. The aim of the thesis was to verify a scientific hypothesis that claims: the changes introduced in the immigration policy in the observed period led to a growing number of immigrants with higher education and an increase in the number of the working-age population. Together with the hypothesis, author tries to answer additional research questions: with what purpose were these changes made? How did the intended and actual impacts differ? and ultimately: what degree of restriction did these legislative changes bring? To obtain the necessary data and information author used statistical data and specialized studies. Based on the information and data analysis performed by the author, the author of the thesis came to the conclusion that changes in immigration policy led to an increase in the productive components of the labor market and at the same time meant the arrival of a growing number of qualified workers. I evaluate the goals with which these changes came as fulfilled and the main hypothesis as verified. |
