Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na analýzu mzdové diskriminace mezi pohlavími v profesionálním tenisu. Cílem této studie je zjistit, zda existují rozdíly ve výkonnosti mužů a žen v klíčových momentech zápasu, které by mohly ospravedlnit rozdíly v odměnách. Práce kombinuje teorii mzdové diskriminace, behaviorální ekonomii a fenomén selhání pod tlakem s kvantitativními metodami, přičemž využívá logistický regresní model k identifikaci významných faktorů ovlivňujících výkonnost hráčů a hráček. Data jsou získána z vybraných ATP a WTA turnajů kategorie 1000, během let 2014-2023. Výsledky práce, které naznačují, že výkony žen jsou v kritických momentech lepší nebo srovnatelné s výkony mužů mohou poskytnout nový pohled na problematiku mzdové nerovnosti a její vliv na chování sportovců nejen v tenisovém prostředí, ale i v širším kontextu pracovního trhu. |

This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of wage discrimination between gender in professional tennis. The aim of this study is to determine whether there are differences in men's and women's performance at key moments in a match that could justify differences in pay. The thesis combines the theory of wage discrimination, behavioral economics and the phenomenon of choking under pressure with quantitative methods, using a logistic regression model to identify significant factors influencing the performance of male and female players. Data are obtained from selected ATP and WTA 1000 category tournaments during 2014-2023. The results of the paper, which suggest that women's performance at critical moments is better or comparable to men's performance may provide new insights into the issue of wage inequality and its impact on athlete’s behavior not only in tennis environment, but also in the broader context of the labor market. |
