Impact of development projects on the development of selected suburban municipalities in the catchment area of the capital city of Prague in the context of DNSH – "do no significant harm“ policy implementation

The bachelor thesis deals with the influence of development projects on the development of selected suburban municipalities in the catchment area of the capital city of Prague. The thesis focuses mainly on implementing the principles of DNSH („do no significant harm“), which is part of the EU taxonomy. The research shows that the DNSH principle is not yet fully implemented in development projects due to a lack of awareness of the concept. Nevertheless, efforts by some companies and municipalities to include sustainable principles in project planning and investment plans can be observed. The results of the thesis point out that to achieve sustainable development, in addition to adhering to the principles of sustainability, close cooperation between developers and municipalities is also necessary. The basis of the sustainable development of the municipalities is also a well-set zoning plan, which contributes to minimizing the negative impacts of uncontrolled construction, which can cause an excessive burden on infrastructure, the environment, and risks associated with insufficient civic amenities. The thesis brings new knowledge to the field of sustainability of development projects and emphasizes the need to improve awareness of the DNSH principle to ensure the long-term sustainable development of municipalities.
