Evaluation of the Smart Prague concept: comparison with European leaders

The thesis focuses on the analysis of the current state of Smart Prague not only as a whole, but also within specific projects. Another method used is a comparative analysis of Prague with selected European cities that can be described as leaders in the smart city concept. These cities include Vienna, Amsterdam and Barcelona. Within these cities, the thesis identifies successful projects and approaches that has high potential for implementation in Prague. The main conclusions of the thesis show that Prague is making some measurable progress in the field of smart technologies, but still unsuccessfully faces a number of challenges. These challenges include a lack of coordination between actors, a lack of citizen participation, low interoperability of systems and the need for private sector integration. The added value of the paper is the identification of specific projects and approaches that have been or are being successfully implemented in the named European cities and whose transfer to Prague can bring a significant improvement in the quality of life of the inhabitants. The originality of this work lies in the comprehensive view of Smart Prague, including both theoretical analysis and practical recommendations for its further development.
