Analysis and design of Enterprise Architecture

This thesis focuses on the analysis and design of Enterprise Architecture (EA), emphasizing the alignment of business and technological objectives within organizations. The thesis introduces the TOGAF framework as a key tool for structured management and development of EA. It also explores the benefits of implementing EA, including process efficiency improvements, alignment of IT with strategic goals, and support for decision-making processes at the executive level. The practical part of the thesis involves an analysis of the current state of EA within a selected organization, focusing on two main areas: business architecture and application architecture. The analysis identifies key issues, such as low integration between processes and IT systems, duplications in the application environment, and insufficient process automation. Based on this analysis, a target EA design is proposed, including a business capability map, value streams, and recommendations for implementing a Warehouse Management System (WMS). The proposal is supported by an economic analysis, including calculations of ROI and NPV, which confirm the financial benefits of the proposed solution. The conclusions of the thesis summarize the benefits of the proposed EA in improving operational efficiency, supporting strategic decision-making, and enhancing the long-term competitiveness of organizations. The thesis also highlights the importance of EA as a tool for aligning business and technological objectives and provides specific recommendations for its optimization and implementation.
