| Abstract: | Práce zkoumá teorii ekonomické konvergence mezi Českou republikou a Německem mezi lety 2005–2023. V práci je vysvětleno několik přístupů k tématu konvergence, jako koncept beta konvergence, který vychází ze Solowova modelu exogenního růstu (1956). Práce se zabývá faktory, kvůli kterým by k procesu konvergence mezi zeměmi mohlo docházet. V práci je zkoumána konvergence reálných mezd, kde je k přepočtu parity kupní síly využíván Big Mac index. Hypotéza je ověřována pomocí ekonometrických testů, jako je vektorový model korekce chyb (VECM), který zkoumá krátkodobé i dlouhodobé vztahy mezi ukazateli. Jsou testovány také koncepty beta a sigma konvergence. Výsledek zkoumání je takový, že konvergence mezi zeměmi probíhá, avšak velmi pozvolna. |

| Abstract: | This thesis examines the theory of economic convergence between the Czech Republic and Germany between the years 2005-2023. The thesis explains several approaches to the topic of convergence, such as the concept of beta convergence, which is based on Solow's exogenous growth model (1956). The thesis examines the factors that could cause the convergence process between countries. The thesis examines real wage convergence, where the Big Mac index is used to recalculate purchasing power parity. The hypothesis is tested using econometric tests such as the vector error correction model (VECM), which examines both short-run and long-run relationships between indicators. The concepts of beta and sigma convergence are also tested. The result is that convergence between countries is occurring, but very slowly. |
