| Abstract: | Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na problematiku osobní železniční dopravy ve dvou vybraných zemích – České republice a Polsku. Hlavním cílem je provést komplexní porovnávací analýzu osobní železniční dopravy v obou uvedených zemích a navrhnout doporučení pro zlepšení současného stavu. Teoretická část vymezuje klíčové pojmy a aspekty související s osobní železniční dopravou. Patří mezi ně například infrastruktura, organizace a financování železniční dopravy, tarifní politika a dopravní obslužnost. Zahrnuje také legislativní rámec Evropské unie, který je pro rozvoj osobní železniční dopravy v členských zemích zásadní. Jako metoda zpracování teoretických poznatků slouží literární rešerše odborných zdrojů. Následná praktická část je zaměřena na zkoumání stavu osobní železniční dopravy v Česku a v Polsku. Tato část je založena na využití sekundárních dat, která zahrnují statistiky o infrastruktuře, provozu, investicích a celkově kvalitě dopravy. Součástí praktické části je komparativní studie, která umožňuje identifikovat hlavní rozdíly i podobnosti mezi oběma zeměmi. Na konci práce jsou identifikovány hlavní výzvy, kterým čelí osobní železniční doprava v obou zemích, a je představen seznam doporučení ke zlepšení situace. |

| Abstract: | This thesis focuses on the issue of passenger rail transport in two selected countries – the Czech Republic and Poland. The main goal is to perform a comprehensive comparative analysis of their passenger rail transport and propose recommendations for improving the current state. The theoretical part defines the key concepts and aspects related to passenger rail transport. These include, for example, infrastructure, the organisation and financing of rail transport, tariff policy and transport services. It also includes the legislative framework of the European Union, which is essential for the development of rail passenger transport in the member states. The method of processing theoretical knowledge is a literary search of professional resources. The next practical part is aimed at examining the state of passenger rail transport in the Czech Republic and Poland. This section is based on the use of secondary data, which includes statistics on infrastructure, traffic, investment and overall transport quality. Part of the practical part is a comparative study, which makes it possible to identify the main differences and similarities between the two countries. At the end of the work, the main challenges facing passenger rail transport in both countries are identified, and a list of recommendations to improve the situation is presented. |
