Design of a Management and IT System for a Business Operating in the Textile Sector

This diploma thesis focuses on streamlining the online business operations of a specific company operating in the field of yarn sales, referred to in the thesis as Company X. The work addresses the suboptimal situation of Company X, which was primarily caused by the absence of an initial analysis, an inadequate initial implementation of an IT solution by an IT specialist, and insufficient knowledge in the field of e-commerce. The author responds to this initial state by proposing a set of recommendations based on a comprehensive analysis of the market, competitors, and their product portfolios, a literature review, expert consultations, and personal professional experience. The thesis also includes a proposal for a potential transition to a new IT solution, supported by a detailed analysis of suitable alternatives, a thoroughly developed migration strategy, and a tailor-made web solution reflecting the needs of Company X. Selected recommendations were subsequently implemented by the author following consultations with the owners of Company X, which led to a demonstrable improvement in the company's operations. Based on the achieved results, Company X expressed interest in implementing additional proposed recommendations aimed at further stabilizing and developing the business.
