| Abstract: | Diplomová práce „Diverzifikace nigerijské ekonomiky – příklad ICT sektoru“ se zaměřuje na proces odklonu Nigérie od závislosti na ropném sektoru směrem k rozvoji neropných odvětví, konkrétně sektoru informačních a komunikačních technologií (ICT). Cílem práce je zmapovat proces diverzifikace nigerijské ekonomiky ve 21. století a posoudit význam ICT sektoru. První kapitola vymezuje teoretická východiska diverzifikace a představuje používané metodologické nástroje měření. Druhá část přináší charakteristiku nigerijské ekonomiky a její strukturální závislosti na ropě. Hlavní část práce, tvořená třetí a čtvrtou kapitolou, podrobně analyzuje národní diverzifikační plány po dekádách, přičemž zvláštní důraz je kladen na ICT sektor. Výsledkem práce je komplexní zhodnocení diverzifikačního potenciálu tohoto sektoru, mimo jiné shrnuté ve formě SWOT analýzy. Práce přispívá k hlubšímu porozumění strukturálním změnám v nigerijském hospodářství a reaguje na dosavadní nedostatek odborné literatury spojující ropný a ICT sektor v kontextu diverzifikace hospodářství největší africké ekonomiky - Nigérie. |

| Abstract: | The master's thesis "Diversification of the Nigerian Economy – The Case of the ICT Sector" focuses on Nigeria’s shift away from dependence on the oil sector towards the development of non-oil industries, specifically the information and communication technology (ICT) sector. The aim of the thesis is to map the process of economic diversification in Nigeria during the 21st century and assess the significance of the ICT sector. The first chapter outlines the theoretical framework of diversification and introduces methodological tools used for its measurement. The second part characterizes the Nigerian economy and its structural dependency on oil. The main part of the thesis, comprising the third and fourth chapters, thoroughly analyzes national diversification plans by decade, with special emphasis placed on the ICT sector. The outcome is a comprehensive evaluation of the diversification potential of this sector, summarized, among other things, in the form of a SWOT analysis. This thesis contributes to a deeper understanding of structural changes within Nigeria’s economy and addresses the existing gap in academic literature that connects the oil and ICT sectors within the context of diversification in Africa’s largest economy. |
