Bakalářská práce se zabývá moderní sportovní diplomacií Spojených států amerických (USA). Tato země je ve světě známá díky svým profesionálním sportovním ligám, úspěšným sportovcům i pořádání velkých sportovních akcí. S užitím sportu v oficiální diplomacii mají USA navíc bohaté zkušenosti. Práce je založena především na teorii soft power a dosavadních poznatcích literatury ohledně praxe sportovní diplomacie. Pomocí kvantitativní a následné kvalitativní textové analýzy facebookových příspěvků oficiálního účtu americké sportovní diplomacie zveřejněných mezi lety 2021–2024 zjišťuje, jaké jsou cíle moderní sportovní diplomacie USA a skrze jaké aktivity jsou tyto cíle naplňovány. Dále se práce soustředí na způsob, jímž jsou tyto cíle a aktivity komunikovány veřejnosti. |

| Abstract: |
The bachelor's thesis explores the modern sports diplomacy of the United States of America (USA). This country is recognized worldwide for its professional sports leagues, successful athletes, and hosting major sporting events. Moreover, the USA has extensive experience in incorporating sports into official diplomatic efforts. This thesis is primarily based on soft power theory and the existing literature on the practice of sports diplomacy. A combination of quantitative and subsequent qualitative textual analysis of Facebook posts of the official US sports diplomacy account published between 2021 and 2024 identifies the objectives of modern US sports diplomacy and through which activities these goals are pursued. Additionally, the thesis focuses on how these objectives and activities are communicated to the public. |
