| Abstract: | Diplomová práce zkoumá zapojení mezinárodních aktérů, konkrétně Programu OSN pro životní prostředí (UNEP), do řešení klimatické krize na africkém kontinentu. Cílem práce je zhodnotit reakci UNEP na globální oteplování v Africe a ověřit, zda svými projekty skutečně posiluje schopnost afrických zemí zmírňovat dopady klimatické změny. První část práce vychází z konceptů komplexity a globálního řízení, které tvoří základ pro multilaterální klimatickou politiku. Následující analytická část nejprve shrne hlavní klimatické výzvy Afriky a činnost relevantních mezinárodních organizací. Dále je pomocí evaluační případové studie UNEP zhodnoceno, nakolik projekty realizované na Madagaskaru a v Mali přispívají k naplňování Cílů udržitelného rozvoje a jak se tyto státy zapojují do klimatických diplomatických procesů v rámci UNEP, čímž se ověřuje platnost stanovené hypotézy. |

| Abstract: | This thesis examines the involvement of international actors, specifically the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), in addressing the climate crisis on the African continent. The aim of the thesis is to assess UNEP's response to global warming in Africa and to verify whether its projects are actually strengthening the capacity of African countries to mitigate the effects of climate change. The first part of the thesis is based on the concepts of complexity and global governance, which form the basis for multilateral climate policy. The following analytical section will first summarize Africa's main climate challenges and the work of relevant international organizations. Next, it uses a UNEP evaluation case study to assess the extent to which projects implemented in Madagascar and Mali contribute to the SDGs and how these countries engage in climate diplomacy processes within UNEP, thus testing the validity of the stated hypothesis. |
