Abstract: |
This thesis addresses the issue of workplace addictions and their impact on the work environment, employee efficiency, and overall corporate culture. The aim is to analyze the effects of addictions, such as absenteeism, turnover, and reduced morale, and to propose preventive and intervention strategies that employers and HR departments can utilize to minimize these negative outcomes. The thesis focuses on the role of HR in the process of identifying and preventing addictions, the tools and programs organizations can implement, and the importance of leadership and employer support for employees. Particular emphasis is placed on HR personnel training, consultations, therapy, and the development of corporate policies aimed at addressing addictions. The analysis also includes Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) and their benefits in managing addiction-related challenges. The thesis also discusses the influence of organizational culture on approaches to addictions and how employer support can contribute to the destigmatization of addictions and the creation of a safe working environment. The findings demonstrate that a systematic approach to this issue, encompassing prevention, intervention, and long-term support, not only helps individuals overcome their challenges but also strengthens organizational loyalty, productivity, and stability. |
