Analysis and Design of a Mobile Application for the Psoriasis Patient Community

[Introduction] Mobile applications hold significant potential to improve the care of psoriasis patients by streamlining health status tracking, providing continuous support from healthcare professionals, and enhancing communication with both medical providers and patient communities. [Objective] The primary objective is to investigate the specific needs of psoriasis patients and design a mobile application that offers effective tools for symptom monitoring, provides educational resources on the condition, enables seamless communication with healthcare providers, and creates a space for community support. The application should be intuitive and tailored to the individual needs of patients, helping them better manage the daily challenges associated with psoriasis. [Methods] The study involves a qualitative analysis based on interviews with psoriasis patients and personal questionnaires designed to gain deeper insights into their needs. Additionally, it includes an analysis of existing mobile applications aimed at supporting patients with chronic skin conditions and the development of an app design, including wireframes. A prototype will be created and subjected to user testing to assess functionality and usability. [Expected Outcomes/Benefits] The resulting application is expected to ease the daily lives of psoriasis patients and offer valuable tools for effectively managing their health condition. By doing so, the app will empower patients to take an active role in managing their health, increase their awareness of the condition, and support their mental well-being.
