Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje analýze dopadu ropných šoků 70. let na západoněmecký automobilový průmysl. V práci je ověřována platnost hypotézy v následujícím znění: první ropný šok měl drastičtější dopady na západoněmecký automobilový průmysl než druhý ropný šok. V rámci analýzy dopadů jsou spolu s celkovým odvětvím analyzovány dvě významné západoněmecké automobilky, konkrétně automobilky Volkswagenwerk AG a Daimler-Benz AG. V případě podnikové analýzy jsou zkoumány změny následujících indikátorů: produkce vozidel, prodej vozidel, export vozidel, zaměstnanost a ziskovost. Na základě provedené analýzy byla hypotéza částečně potvrzena. K hypotéze se váží tři dílčí výzkumné otázky. První zkoumá, jak ovlivnily ropné šoky export západoněmeckých vozidel. Analýza ukázala, že oba ropné šoky 70. let měly na vývoz západoněmeckých automobilů negativní dopad, nicméně jejich intenzita a délka trvání se výrazně lišily. Druhá výzkumná otázka zjišťuje, zda došlo k v důsledku ropných šoků k poklesu produkce u obou zkoumaných automobilek. Výzkumem bylo zjištěno, že produkce byla výrazně ovlivněna v případě automobilky Volkswagenwerk AG, v případě automobilky Daimler-Benz AG k významnému poklesu nedošlo. Třetí otázka zkoumá, zda měly ropné šoky horší dopad na cenově dostupnou automobilku nebo na prémiovou automobilku. Analýzou bylo zjištěno, že ropné šoky měly jednoznačně horší dopad na cenově dostupnou automobilku, tedy na automobilku Volkswagenwerk AG. Práce přispívá k pochopení reakce automobilového průmyslu v období energetické krize. Zároveň je práce aktuální v kontextu diskuse o dalším směřování automobilového průmyslu, ať již v důsledku zvýšeného důrazu na ekologii nebo v důsledku rostoucích cen energií. |

This bachelor thesis analyses the impact of the oil shocks of the 1970s on the West German automotive industry. The thesis tests the validity of the following hypothesis: the first oil shock had more drastic effects on the West German car industry than the second oil shock. In the impact analysis, two major West German automotive companies, namely Volkswagenwerk AG and Daimler-Benz AG, are analysed together with the overall industry. In the case of the company analysis, changes in the following indicators are examined: vehicle production, vehicle sales, vehicle exports, employment and profitability. Based on the analysis, the hypothesis was partially confirmed. Three sub-research questions are related to hypothesis. The first examines how oil shocks have affected West German vehicle exports. The analysis showed that both oil shocks of the 1970s had a negative impact on West German car exports, but their intensity and duration differed significantly. The second research question investigates whether there was a decline in production at the two automakers studied as a result of the oil shocks. The research found that production was significantly affected in the case of Volkswagenwerk AG, while there was no significant decrease in the case of Daimler-Benz AG. The third question examines whether the oil shocks had a worse impact on the affordable carmaker or the premium carmaker. The analysis shows that the oil shocks clearly had a worse impact on the affordable carmaker, i.e. Volkswagenwerk AG. The paper contributes to the understanding of the response of the automotive industry during the energy crisis. At the same time, the thesis is relevant in the context of the debate on the future direction of the automotive industry, whether as a result of the increased emphasis on environmental friendliness or as a result of rising energy prices. |
