| Abstract: | Testy o střední hodnotě jsou založeny na předpokladu normálního rozdělení. Práce se zaměří na jednovýběrový t-test a dvouvýběrový t-test pro ověření shody středních hodnot dvou nezávislých výběrů. Cílem práce je shrnout předpoklady, za nichž jsou odvozeny a prostudovat dopady porušení jednotlivých předpokladů. Známé teoretické výsledky budou studovány pomocí vhodné simulační studie. Součástí práce je posoudit vhodnost testů, které jsou doporučovány v případech, kdy předpoklady pro t-testy nejsou dodrženy (např. Welchův test, permutační test). |

| Abstract: | The tests of a mean are based on the assumption of a normal distribution. This thesis focuses on the one-sample t-test and the two-sample t-test to examine the equality of means from two independent samples. The aim of the thesis is to summarize the assumptions upon which these tests are derived and to study the impacts of violating these assumptions. Well-established theoretical results will be explored using an appropriate simulation study. The work also assesses the suitability of the tests recommended in cases where the assumptions for t-tests are not met (e.g., Welch’s test, permutation test). |
