Stress management in a selected chemical industry organization

The thesis deals with the issue of occupational stress and its management in the chemical industry. The aim of the thesis is to identify the main sources of stress, its symptoms, and coping methods among employees working in the chemical industry. The research is conducted in the form of semi-structured interviews with employees of a selected company and supplemented with a scale of perceived stress. The results show that stressors include safety risks, operational responsibilities and interpersonal relationships. The most frequent symptoms of stress and ways of coping with stress were also identified, including relaxation and physical activities, support from loved ones, or actively dealing with a stressful situation. An analysis of the current state of organizational stress management showed that the company offers some benefits and measures to support employees, but there is a lack of systematic prevention and formal programmes aimed specifically at preventing and managing stress. Based on the findings, recommendations for improving stress management in the organization are proposed. The results of this thesis may have practical benefits for the studied organization and its employees, as well as for other companies in the chemical industry or in other industries with high levels of responsibility and risk. Effective stress management is crucial in the chemical industry not only to increase employee satisfaction and maintain their mental well-being, but also to ensure operational safety and minimize the negative impact of stress on the entire organization.
