Analysis of mortality in the regions of the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis is focusing on the analysis of mortality across the districts of the Czech Republic. It aims to construct a mortality potential based on data obtained from the Czech Statistical Office. This potential could by used for comparison and as a model towards which the population might aspire. The thesis also includes an analysis of the districts with the lowest probabilities of death. Based on these calculations, model life tables will by created and then compared with the actual life expectancy of individual districts using decomposition and cluster analysis. Among the districts with the lowest mortality probabilities for females are Hodonín, the capital city Prague, Hradec Králové a Brno-city, for males they are Prague-west, Hradec Králové, and the capital city Prague. The highest mortality probabilities are in districts like Jeseník, Sokolov and Most for females and Jeseník, Karviná and most for males. From the perspective of life expectancy comparison using decomposition, the south Moravian and Hradec Králové regions perform best while the northwestern part of Bohemia and the Moravian-Silesian region are at the opposite end of the spectrum.
