| Abstract: | Cílem této diplomové práce bylo analyzovat vztah mezi výkonností bank v oblasti environmentálních, sociálních a správních (ESG) faktorů a jejich reputací na českém bankovním trhu. Výzkum se zaměřil na šest největších bank působících v ČR. Reputační skóre bylo sestaveno jako souhrnný index založený na vybraných indikátorech důvěryhodnosti, zatímco ESG výkonnost byla hodnocena pomocí čtyř externích metrik: MSCI ESG Rating, Sustainalytics skóre, LSEG ESG Score a zařazení do žebříčku VŠE ESG Rating. Hlavními použitými metodami byla korelační a deskriptivní analýza. Výsledky ukázaly, že vztah mezi ESG a reputací není jednoznačný - zatímco některé ukazatele (např. Sustainalytics, VŠE ESG) vykazují relativně silnou pozitivní vazbu, jiné jsou slabé nebo rozporné. Zjištěn byl i nesoulad mezi výbornou ESG výkonností a nízkou reputací u některých bank, což naznačuje význam dalších faktorů, jako je značka, komunikace nebo mediální obraz. Práce přináší praktická doporučení pro banky v oblasti propojení ESG strategie s řízením reputace. |

| Abstract: | The aim of this thesis was to analyze the relationship between banks’ performance in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) areas and their reputation in the Czech banking sector. The research focused on the six largest banks operating in the Czech Republic. The reputation score was constructed as a composite index based on selected trust-related indicators, while ESG performance was assessed using four external metrics: MSCI ESG Rating, Sustainalytics score, LSEG ESG Score, and inclusion in the VŠE ESG Rating Top 10. The main methods used were correlation and descriptive analysis. The results revealed that the relationship between ESG performance and reputation is not straightforward - while some indicators (e.g. Sustainalytics, VŠE ESG) show a relatively strong positive association, others are weak or inconsistent. Cases of banks with high ESG performance but low reputation suggest the influence of additional factors such as brand strength, communication strategy, or media visibility. The thesis offers practical recommendations for banks on how to better integrate ESG strategy into their reputation management. |
