| Abstract: | Diplomová práce se zabývá gentrifikací, socioekonomickým a urbanistickým procesem, jenž je v současnosti charakteristický pro vybrané čtvrti hlavního města Prahy. Cílem práce je identifikace a potvrzení procesu gentrifikace ve zkoumané oblasti a popsání jeho vývoje v diachronní perspektivě. V teoretické části se práce věnuje konceptu gentrifikace, jeho definici, příčinám a dopadům. Praktická část následně ověřuje pomocí primárních a sekundárních dat danou změnu ekonomické, urbánní a sociální struktury v rámci pražské čtvrti Smíchov. Práce vychází z kvalitativního výzkumu, který se opírá o sérii polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s rezidenty dané oblasti. Hlavním výstupem práce je série autorských doporučení pro zmírnění či případné pozitivní využití socio-ekonomických dopadů tohoto fenoménu. |

| Abstract: | The thesis deals with gentrification, a socio-economic and urban process that is currently characteristic for selected districts of the capital city of Prague. The aim of the thesis is to identify and confirm the process of gentrification in the studied area and to describe its development in a diachronic perspective. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the concept of gentrification, its definition, causes and impacts. The practical part then verifies, with the help of primary and secondary data, the given change in the economic, urban and social structure within the Prague district of Smíchov. The work is based on qualitative research, which relies on a series of semi-structured interviews with residents of the area. The main output of the work will be a series of author's recommendations for mitigating or possibly positively exploiting the socio-economic impacts of this phenomenon. |
