Cross-border cooperation between the Moravian-Silesian Region and Poland in the field of tourism during the 2014–2020 programming period

This bachelor's thesis focuses on evaluating cross-border cooperation between the Moravian-Silesian Region and Poland in the field of tourism during the 2014–2020 programming period within the Interreg V-A Czech Republic–Poland programme. The aim of the thesis is to assess the benefits, barriers, and limitations of selected projects and to propose recommendations for improving the efficiency of such cooperation in the future. The research combines theoretical analysis of the institutional and political framework of cross-border cooperation with a practical examination of five specific projects, complemented by insights gained through structured interviews with their implementers. The findings show that cross-border tourism projects contribute to strengthening regional identity, increasing territorial attractiveness, and fostering community ties across the border. However, they also face significant administrative burdens, inconsistent interpretations of rules, and coordination challenges. The added value of the thesis lies in the detailed reflection of real-world project implementation and in the synthesis of findings into practical recommendations. The thesis thus enriches the understanding of how European territorial cooperation operates in a specific regional context.
