| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá vliv regulace na ekonomický výstup prostřednictvím regulačního indexu PMR (Product Market Regulation), který vytvořila organizace OECD. Ve výzkumu se ověřuje hypotéza, že regulace má negativní vliv na ekonomický výstup na základě panelových dat složených z let 2018 a 2023. V rámci této práce pro analýzu vlivu regulace bylo využito Solowova modelu s R&D sektorem, který zachycuje vliv regulace prostřednictvím snížení parametru θ a nižšího počtu fyzického kapitálu a pracovní síly v R&D sektoru. Odhad vlivu regulace na hospodářský růst byl odhadnut pomocí proveditelné zobecněné metody nejmenších čtverců (FGLS) aplikované na specifikaci rovnice pro panelová data pomocí metody korelovaných náhodných efektů CRE. Model popisuje robustní a statisticky významný negativní vliv na HDP na obyvatele přepočtený podle parity kupní síly (PPP), což implikuje, že vládní politici by se měli soustředit na snížení regulační zátěže, pokud je jejich cílem růst blahobytu. Hlavním přínosem této práce je, že empiricky potvrzuje negativní vliv regulace na ekonomický výstup a shoduje se závěrem Draghiho (2024) zprávy v otázce negativního vlivu regulací na hospodářský růst. |

| Abstract: | This bachelor thesis examines the impact of regulation on economic output using the Product Market Regulation (PMR) index developed by the OECD. The research tests the hypothesis that regulation has a negative impact on economic output based on panel data from 2018 and 2023. To analyze the impact of regulation, this thesis uses the Solow model with an R&D sector, which captures the impact of regulation through a reduction in the parameter θ and a lower amount of physical capital and labor in the R&D sector. The impact of regulation on economic growth was estimated using the feasible generalized least squares (FGLS) method applied to the specification of the equation for panel data using the correlated random effects (CRE) method. The model describes a robust and statistically significant negative impact on GDP per capita adjusted for purchasing power parity (PPP), implying that government policymakers should focus on reducing the regulatory burden if their goal is to increase welfare. The main contribution of this work is that it empirically confirms the negative impact of regulation on economic output and agrees with the conclusion of Draghi’s (2024) report on the negative impact of regulation on economic growth. |
