Multiple children families support in the Czech Republic in 2013-2023

The thesis focuses on state support for families with three or more children in the Czech Republic between 2013 and 2023. It analyses the development and effectiveness of benefits provided to families with multiple children and assesses whether the support for these families is sufficient. The theoretical part focuses on the changes in the institution of the family in the historical and contemporary context. It also illustrates the intersection of family policy with other disciplines and provides a basic overview of the development of state family policy. The practical part first maps the situation in the Czech Republic from a demographic and economic perspective and outlines the living conditions of families with 3 or more children. It then analyses all available instruments of state support and describes the development of these instruments over the period under review. The key tool of the evaluation is testing the level of support using four model families with different parameters. The main findings from the analysis of the model families are that the system of support for large families has a strong social character and lacks targeted pro-natalist elements.
