Property Insurance of the Population on the Czech and Slovak Insurance Markets in the Context of Development Trends

The bachelor’s thesis focuses on property insurance in the Czech and Slovak insurance markets within the context of newly evolving trends. Developments of society and transformations in natural processes have contributed to new challenges faced by the insurance industry. These aspects are explored within the framework of the Czech and Slovak insurance sectors. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part deals with the theoretical definition of the issue to enable more in-depth analysis. The second part presents the analysis of the Czech and Slovak insurance markets based on publicly available data from the Czech Insurance Association, the Slovak Insurance Association, and the National Bank of Slovakia. The third chapter evaluates current trends affecting the insurance market, specifically in relation to property insurance. The aim of the thesis is to provide insight into the issue of property insurance in the above-mentioned countries and to characterize the specific features, key insurers, and offered products. It also identifies and reflects the main challenges, which are faced by the markets. Aim is to emphasize their importance and to provide a comparative analysis. Last, but not least, it comments on recent technological developments and the impact of climate change on the insurance segment of the financial sector.
