Diplomová práce se zabývá působením muzejních institucí v diplomacii a jejich schopností přispívat k rozvoji soft power státu. První kapitola proto obsahuje teoretické vymezení konceptů soft power, kulturní diplomacie a činnosti muzeí. Druhá kapitola identifikuje hlavní trendy muzejní činnosti s diplomatickým přesahem. Ve třetí kapitole následuje empirické zaměření na Českou republiku a konečně čtvrtá kapitola přibližuje prostřednictvím případové studie Galerie hlavního města Prahy konkrétní aktivity s mezinárodním dosahem, jež mohou být muzejní institucí realizovány. Tímto způsobem je završen záměr práce přispět k hlubšímu porozumění roli muzeí jako aktérů kulturní diplomacie. Práce vychází především z odborných zdrojů, strategických dokumentů a polostrukturovaného rozhovoru, který tvoří klíčový podklad zejména pro poslední část textu. |

| Abstract: |
This thesis examines the role of museum institutions in diplomacy and their ability to contribute to the development of a state's soft power. The first chapter therefore provides a theoretical framework of the concepts of soft power, cultural diplomacy, and museum activities. The second chapter identifies the main trends in museum practice with a diplomatic dimension. The third chapter focuses empirically on the Czech Republic, and finally, the fourth chapter presents a case study of the Prague City Gallery (GHMP), illustrating specific internationally oriented activities which can be implemented by a museum institution. In this way, the thesis fulfils its aim of contributing to a deeper understanding of the role of museums as actors in cultural diplomacy. The research is based on academic sources, strategic documents, and a semi-structured interview, that serves as a key foundation, particularly for the final part of the text. |
