| Abstract: |
Z historického hlediska byla diplomacie výhradně brána jako doména státních aktérů a elitních diplomatů. V posledních dekádách se do prostředí diplomacie promítá nový trend v podobě diplomacie celebrit. Tato práce má za cíl zjistit, zde diplomacie celebrit přináší reálné výsledky nebo jejich zapojení zůstává pouze u symbolické role. Použitá teorie vychází z konceptu star power, která představuje formu veřejné diplomacie a měkké moci. Empirická část se opírá o provedení případové studie dvou celebrit v rámci jejich působení v programech OSN. Zvolenými celebritami jsou herečka Angelina Jolie a světový fotbalista David Beckham. V závěru je hodnocen mediální dopad a finanční přínos účasti celebrit v otázkách programů OSN. |

| Abstract: |
Historically, diplomacy has been regarded as the exclusive domain of state actors and elite diplomats. In recent decades, a new trend has emerged in the field of diplomacy in the form of celebrity diplomacy. This paper aims to determine whether celebrity diplomacy produces tangible results or whether the involvement of celebrities remains merely symbolic. The theoretical framework is based on the concept of star power, which represents a form of public diplomacy and soft power. The empirical section is grounded in a case study of two celebrities and their involvement in UN programs. The selected celebrities are actress Angelina Jolie and world-renowned footballer David Beckham. In conclusion, the media impact and financial contributions of celebrity involvement in UN programs are evaluated. |
