Evaluation of a long-distance hiking trail according to the criteria of the European Leading Quality Trails certification

The diploma thesis evaluates the section of the St James Way from Jíloviště to Příbram according to the criteria of the European certification Leading Quality Trails - Best of Europe. The aim is to find out to what extent the trail meets these criteria and to identify areas for further development. The results show that the route has strong potential due to its natural diversity and cultural attractions, but lags behind especially in the quality of signage, recreational infrastructure and accompanying services for hikers. The paper concludes that the section does not currently meet all the requirements for certification, but with targeted improvements and the support of local stakeholders, it has a chance to become a quality long-distance route.
