| Abstract: | Tato diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou vztahu mezi vládními výdaji na vzdělávání a vybranými makroekonomickými ukazateli České republiky v období 2000–2024. Hlavním cílem práce je zhodnotit, do jaké míry tyto výdaje ovlivňují ekonomickou výkonnost státu, zejména ve vztahu k HDP na obyvatele, míře nezaměstnanosti a produktivitě práce. Dílčím cílem je posoudit výši vládních výdajů na vzdělání v České republice v mezinárodním kontextu s vybranými zeměmi Evropské unie. Práce kombinuje deskriptivní analýzu časových řad s mezinárodním srovnáním výdajových trendů v rámci vybraných zemí Evropské unie a aplikuje kvantitativní metody regresní analýzy k identifikaci statisticky významných vztahů mezi sledovanými proměnnými. Výsledky ukazují, že vyšší výdaje na vzdělávání mají v dlouhodobém horizontu pozitivní vliv na růst HDP na obyvatele a produktivitu práce, přičemž vliv na míru nezaměstnanosti je méně jednoznačný. Zjištění podporují předem stanovené hypotézy, tedy že investice do vzdělávání představují významný faktor udržitelného ekonomického rozvoje. |

| Abstract: | This thesis focuses on the analysis of the relationship between government expenditure on education and selected macroeconomic indicators in the Czech Republic during the period 2000–2024. The primary objective is to evaluate the extent to which such expenditure affects the country’s economic performance, particularly in relation to GDP per capita, the unemployment rate, and labour productivity. A secondary objective is to assess the level of government spending on education in the Czech Republic within an international context, specifically in comparison with selected European Union countries. The study combines descriptive analysis of time series with international comparisons of education spending trends across selected EU member states and applies quantitative regression methods to identify statistically significant relationships between the variables under examination. The results suggest that higher investment in education has a positive long-term effect on GDP per capita and labour productivity, while its impact on the unemployment rate appears less conclusive. The findings support the initial hypotheses, namely that investment in education constitutes a key factor in sustainable economic development. |
