| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na mediální obraz ukončení francouzské vojenské operace Barkhane v regionu Sahel (Afrika) v interpretaci deníku Le Monde. Analyzuje, jakým způsobem toto médium rámovalo ukončení operace a jak se tento obraz proměňoval v období od 10. června 2021 do 31. prosince 2022. S využitím kombinace kvantitativní a kvalitativní obsahové analýzy popisuje a hodnotí vývoj rámců v průběhu sledovaného období. Poukazuje na postupný posun mediálního rámování ukončení operace Barkhane v souvislosti s tím, jak se vyvíjel; tedy od vnímání tohoto kroku jako změny francouzské strategie přes prezentaci odchodu jako selhání až po konečný důraz na ztrátu francouzského vlivu, a s nim související růst nejistoty v regionu. |

| Abstract: | The bachelor’s thesis focuses on the media portrayal of the end of the French military operation Barkhane in the Sahel region (Africa), as presented by the Le Monde newspaper. It analyses how this medium framed the operation’s end and how this portrayal evolved between 10 June 2021 and 31 December 2022. Using a combination of quantitative and qualitative content analysis, it describes and assesses the development of frames throughout the observed period. It highlights the gradual shift in the media framing of the end of Operation Barkhane in relation to how it evolved, that is, from the perception of this step as a change in France’s strategy, through the presentation of the withdrawal as a failure, to the final emphasis on the loss of French influence and the resulting increase in uncertainty in the region. |
