| Abstract: | Diplomová práce Česko-tchajwanské vztahy v kontextu vztahů k Čínské lidové republice analyzuje současnou podobu české zahraniční politiky vůči Tchaj-wanu a Čínské lidové republice v rámci principu jedné Číny. Cílem práce je charakterizovat tvorbu zahraniční politiky malého státu na příkladu České republiky a zhodnotit, jak princip jedné Číny ovlivňuje možnosti České republiky při rozvíjení bilaterálních vztahů s Tchaj-wanem. Teoretická část vychází z konstruktivistického přístupu na moc a mezinárodní vztahy a konceptu zahraniční politiky malého státu, přičemž se zaměřuje na otázku identity, norem a hodnot jako faktorů formujících zahraničněpolitické chování. Druhým cílem je zmapování vývoje česko-čínských a česko-tchajwanských vztahů od roku 1949 do současnosti a analyzování jejich politické a ekonomické dimenze. Součástí empirické části práce je případová studie návštěvy předsedy Senátu Parlamentu ČR Miloše Vystrčila na Tchaj-wanu v roce 2020, která představuje významný moment české zahraniční politiky v kontextu principu jedné Číny a na který diplomová práce pohlíží z konstruktivistického pohledu. |

| Abstract: | The diploma thesis Czech-Taiwan Relations in the Context of Relations with the People’s Republic of China analyzes the current shape of Czech foreign policy towards Taiwan and the People’s Republic of China within the framework of the One-China principle. The aim of the thesis is to characterize the foreign policy formation of a small state using the Czech Republic as an example and to assess how the One-China principle influences the Czech Republic’s ability to develop bilateral relations with Taiwan. The theoretical section draws on a constructivist approach to power and international relations, as well as on the concept of small-state foreign policy, focusing on identity, norms, and values as factors shaping foreign policy behavior. The second objective is to map the development of Czech–Chinese and Czech–Taiwanese relations from 1949 to the present and to analyze their political and economic dimensions. The empirical part includes a case study of the 2020 visit of Miloš Vystrčil, President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, to Taiwan, which represents a significant moment in Czech foreign policy in the context of the One-China principle and is examined in the thesis from a constructivist perspective. |
