| Abstract: | Diplomová práce zkoumá faktory ovlivňující míru zapojení členských států EU a Norska do projektů Evropského obranného fondu (EDF). Cílem je identifikovat a empiricky posoudit ekonomické, obranné, průmyslové a institucionální determinanty participace. Práce je koncipována jako případová studie vycházející z kvantitativního přístupu, konkrétně z lineární regresní analýzy. Teoreticky je ukotvena v rámci liberálního intergovernmentalismu. Výsledky ukazují, že zapojení členských států je výrazně determinováno institucionální zkušeností a schopností participovat na mezinárodní spolupráci ve výzkumu a vývoji. Analýza zároveň odhaluje napětí mezi formálně inkluzivním nastavením fondu a jeho praktickým fungováním, které zvýhodňuje velké etablované aktéry na úkor malých a středních podniků. |

| Abstract: | This thesis examines the factors influencing the level of involvement of EU member states and Norway in the projects of the European Defence Fund (EDF). The aim is to identify and empirically assess the economic, defence, industrial, and institutional determinants of participation. The thesis is designed as a case study based on a quantitative approach, specifically linear regression analysis. Theoretically, it is grounded in the framework of liberal intergovernmentalism. The results show that the involvement of member states is significantly determined by institutional experience and the capacity to participate in international cooperation in research and development. At the same time, the analysis reveals a tension between the formally inclusive design of the EDF and its practical functioning, which favours large established actors at the expense of small and medium-sized enterprises. |
